On top of reacting to Fluxer events, Dispatch.IO does some things on its own, at regular intervals. This page is for administrators who want to know when these actions happen, for example to understand why a YouTube video isn't announced yet.
Every task at a glance
| Task | Frequency | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Bot state | Every 15 seconds | Tells the website's status page that the bot is online. |
| Bot status | Regularly | Rotates the text shown under the bot's name (with the help command, !help). |
| Statistics | Regularly | Saves the number of communities, members and commands, shown on the website. |
| Presence in communities | 1 minute after starting, then every 30 minutes | Fixes the Bot active / Bot missing state of communities on the website. |
| RSS feeds | Every 60 seconds | Checks each feed whose interval is over and posts its latest article. |
| YouTube videos | Every 2 hours | Announces each followed channel's latest video. |
| Twitch streams | Every 30 seconds | Announces a stream start, updates its message, then turns it into a VOD. |
| Studio scheduled messages | Every 30 seconds | Posts the studio messages whose time has come. |
| Inactive flames | Every 10 minutes | Uses freezes or resets the streaks that weren't kept. |
| Voice XP | Every minute, for each member in voice | Gives the community's voice XP. |
| End of polls and giveaways | At the planned end time | Closes the poll, or draws the giveaway's winners. |
When the bot starts
On each start (update, restart), the bot:
- connects to Fluxer and loads its texts, its emojis and the suspended commands;
- finds the members already in voice (voice XP) and the temporary voice channels: it deletes empty channels, changes owner if needed and reposts the panels;
- resumes running polls and giveaways (ending at the planned time, even long after);
- resumes the music that was playing before the restart, if it lasted less than 10 minutes and someone is still in the voice channel (radios don't come back);
- starts checking social networks, RSS feeds and scheduled messages;
- syncs its presence in the communities with the website.
Website forms opened before a restart expire: run the command again to get a new one.
Social networks and RSS feeds
YouTube (2 hours) and Twitch (30 seconds) frequencies are shared by every community and set by the Dispatch.IO team. Each RSS feed has its own interval (from 1 to 1440 minutes). On the website, Check & send runs an immediate check. See Social networks and RSS.

What isn't scheduled
- No bump reminder: the bot warns nobody when the delay is over.
- Pending deletions of temporary text channels are lost if the bot restarts.
